Dr. George Kichura  

George M. Kichura, MD, FACC, FACP, FSCAI, specializes in cardiac and peripheral interventions. He is currently the medical director of the cardiac catheterization lab at St. John’s Mercy Medical Center and Heart Hospital.

Dr. Kichura received his medical degree from the University of Missouri School of Medicine in Columbia, Missouri, where he was elected to Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Medical Society. He completed a combined internship and residency in internal medicine at St. John’s Mercy Medical Center in St. Louis, Missouri. Dr. Kichura completed a fellowship in cardiology at St. Louis University Hospital and a fellowship in interventional cardiology at Washington University School of Medicine/Barnes-Jewish Hospital in St. Louis, Missouri.

Dr. Kichura has 16 years of cardiology experience. He is board certified in internal medicine, cardiovascular disease and interventional cardiology; as well as one of the few physicians in Missouri to be board certified in lipidology. He is also certified as a lipid specialist.

Dr. Kichura has been the chairman of the code STEMI committee for the past two years at St. John’s Mercy Medical Center and Heart Hospital and became the STEMI champion for the Door-to-Balloon (D2B) program. In addition, he represents the Missouri American College of Cardiology and American Heart Association efforts for STEMI regionalization.
