Dr. R. Scott Duff has over 10 years experience in General Neurology with a specialty certification in Vascular Neurology. Currently he practices with a multi-specialty six member group at the Ferrell-Duncan Clinic in Springfield, Missouri. Dr. Duff also serves as the CoxHealth System Stroke Team Medical Director and initiated pilot projects like the Two-Year Stroke Awareness/System Development Coalition and the 2005 DHSS Stroke Awareness project that resulted in an on-going and self-sustaining Springfield Coalition and the Kansas City Mid-America Coalition. In 2005, he provided a snapshot of Missouri’s acute stroke treatment system strengths, issues and gaps by initiating a Statewide Hospital Survey. In 2006 he followed up this survey with a comprehensive Acute Stroke System Report that summarized the hospital survey data and discussed planning opportunities to enhance system development.
Dr. Duff is an active member of the American Medical Association, American Academy of Neurology, American Association of Electrodiagnostic Medicine, American Stroke Association and the former CoxHealth Chief of Staff. Through his position as the American Stroke Association Physician Champion, he helped present to multiple hospitals a “Get With the Guidelines” which helps ensure continuous quality improvement of acute stroke treatment and ischemic stroke prevention. In addition, Dr. Duff serves as an advisor to the Stroke Advisory Committee for the Missouri Department of Health and Senior Services.
